Leakage or pressure leakage can be readily located with the Ultraprobe. Fittings, valves, flanges are all easily scanned for leakage. Condenser tubes can be tested using three methods...

• Vacuum
• Pressure
• Ultratone

For particularly rigorous leak checking of condensors (for example: sea water cooled condensers in coastal power stations), portable helium leak detectors such as the HeliTest or PHD-4 (or, perhaps, a mass spectrometer) may be the instrument of choice.

Helium leak detection plays a vital role in leak checking valves, tubes, flanges, heat exchangers and distillation columns, which require routine maintenance and frequent leak monitoring.
