Overview Back to the top...

Below is a case study we kindly received from Keith Agnew (energy manager) at Solutia, a chemical manufacturer situated in South Wales, who are known for being proactive in the field of energy savings. This particular site has a rather extensive compressed air network, and the Ultraprobe 2000 has become a key part of their leak check programme, which is undertaken every six months.

Please note that the following case study was considered true and correct at the time of publication, and has been amended slightly to improve readability.

Solutia

"First time out, the Ultraprobe 2000 detected 412 leaks resulting in the estimated annual loss of £66,500. As a company, we need to keep on top of these leaks to avoid costly consumption of electricity.

Generation efficiencies are the typical average of 10%. Each round of checks using the Ultraprobe is then followed by a round of fixes, in which typically 75% can be corrected at no cost.

The use of the Ultraprobe in this application alone has paid for itself many times over. Whether you are looking to achieve lower unit costs or save under your Climate Change Agreement, equipment like this is a must."
