From everyone here at Alpine Components, we would just like to wish all of our customers a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year! Please note that the office will be closed from Saturday the 23rd of December, to be reopened again on Tuesday the 2nd of January. We will, however, be checking our voicemail periodically during this time.

New software: ThermaCAM Reporter 8 16/12/2006

Analysing infrared images, and reporting results of infrared inspections to clients and colleagues, are important tasks for any thermographer. To speedup these vital, everyday tasks, Flir have introduced ThermaCAM Reporter 8. This software, which is available for both the Flir B-Series and Flir E-Series range of thermal imaging cameras, enables you to quickly and easily generate comprehensive and professional multi-page reports.

Having been completely rewritten and reworked from statch, ThermaCAM Reporter 8 offers much-improved performance and stability over previous versions, new features (such as "trending", which helps to predict when a component needs to be replaced), an easier-to-use interface, as well as compatibility with both Windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007.

For full details, please visit our Flir software page. Alternatively, please contact us for more information.

Alpine Components: Website news 14/12/2006

As you may already know, we sometimes feature contributions from customers in our periodical Newsletter. To save you having to look through each one for these interesting stories, we have now added them to the website. Please visit our Case studies page to have a read.

Improvements have also been made to our Support section. We have added manuals for both the Mini TEV and the Ultra TEV, an installation guide for ThermaCAM QuickView 2, as well as full details on servicing and calibration of the Ultraprobe. Please visit our Support page for more information.

Furthermore, there is a brand-new version of Ultratrend DMS available - software which is included with both the Ultraprobe 9000 and the Ultraprobe 10,000. This is an incremental but recommended upgrade, and will update your copy of the software to version 2.03. There is now also a 60-day trial of UE Spectralyzer available for evaluating. To download either file, please visit our Software page.

Other miscellaneous additions to the website include: new questions about the ATPOL II on our All-Test FAQ and a sample report generated by the software included with the ATPOL II, showing off some of the software's automatic analysis features.

As ever - should you wish to discuss any of the above, or anything you have seen on our website at all, then please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Choosing the right product for your applications and requirements can sometimes be difficult. In addition to full product details and PDF brochures already available on the website, we have now added model comparison pages for both the Ultraprobe and our Flir range of thermal imaging cameras. Please visit our Products page for links.

We have also updated our Level 1 thermography course page with course dates for 2007. This course has been designed for new users of infrared thermal imaging cameras. However, it is equally appropriate for potential purchasers and those requiring an in-depth review of measurement techniques and their practical applications. Please visit our Level 1 thermography course page for more information.

And finally, we have added a brand-new Support section to the website. At the moment, you can download PDF manuals for many of our products (including some of the software), and further improvements will be made to this area soon. Please visit our Support page if you would like to download a manual.

As always - if you would like to discuss any of the above, or anything you have seen on our website, then please do not hesitate to get in touch.

We are pleased to announce that details of the All-Safe Pro Connection Boxes, which are an accessory for the ATPOL II, are now available on our website. These permanently installed test panels eliminate the need to open up electrical panels when testing energised motors. Please visit our All-Safe Pro Connection Boxes page for details.

We have also updated the website with full details of the software that is included with the ATPOL II. This includes details on both All-Test Pro OL 4 and MotorMaster+ 4. Furthermore, we have also included a brief overview of a piece of software called Time To Failure Estimator, which is freely available upon request. Please visit our All-Test software page for more information.

As always - should you have any questions, or if you would like more information, then please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Application handbook: Lubrication handbook 30/08/2006

Ultrasound technology is ideally suited for effective condition-based lubrication programs. With ultrasonic inspection instruments, a program can be established that will inform inspectors which bearings need to be lubricated, and help lubrication technicians know exactly how much lubrication needs to be applied.

This complimentary guide covers both theory, and the use of ultrasound technology to avoid over-lubrication of bearings. Please visit our Application handbooks page for details. Alternatively, please contact us for more information.
