Course dates for 2008 have now been announced for the Level 1 Thermography Course.

This course has been designed for those who require an in-depth understanding of measurement techniques and their practical applications. Those attending the course will fast become effective, proficient and certified thermographers, thanks to instructors who are ASNT and ERPI Level 3 qualified.

Course dates for 2008 have now been announced for the One-day Thermography Course.

This course has been designed for new users of Flir infrared cameras. However, much of the course content is also equally appropriate for both potential purchasers and those who require a basic understanding of measurement techniques and their practical applications.

We recently e-mailed out details about the next series of Motor Reliability and Testing Seminars, which we will be running later this year in November. Once again, our main presenter on the day will be Richard Scott, who is the vice-president of engineering and support at All-Test Pro.

Richard will also be supported by Gary Mohr from UE Systems, Jack Huggett from The Woodhouse Partnership and our very own Jeremy Lineham, and we are planning to hold these events in Aberdeen, Doncaster, Middlesbrough and Runcorn.

The Flir B-360 and the Flir T-360 are two brand-new infrared cameras from Flir Systems, which have been designed to make thermographic inspections easier than ever before. Some of the new features include...
  • 1.3 megapixel digital camera, with lamp for dark areas
  • Automatic focus and zoom (manual focus is still available)
  • 3.5" LCD touch screen for quick and easy operation
  • Tiltable lens unit, with 120° of movement for surveying in tight spaces
  • Thermal fusion technology, which is available on both the camera and in the software
  • Save 1,000 high resolution images on a removable SD card (included in the kit)
As with all of our Flir B-Series cameras, the Flir B-360 has been designed for use in the building industry and includes specific features such as dew point, humidity and insulation alarms. The Flir T-360, meanwhile, is targeted at electrical applications and offers a higher temperature measurement range.

Date confirmed for Level 1 Ultrasound Course 25/06/2007 Back to the top...

We recently announced on our newsletter that our annual Level 1 Ultrasound Course has been rescheduled from later this year to early next. We are now pleased to be able to follow up this announcement and confirm that this five-day course will be running from the 21st to the 25th of April, 2008.

We would like to take this opportunity to apologise for any inconvenience that this change of date may cause, and we very much hope you will still be able to come along next spring.

A new update (version 2.0) is now available for EMCAT PRO 2005 and Trend 2005. This free update squashes some previously reported bugs, and also includes a number of new features and improvements...
  • New features -- Additional options have been added to the trend analysis screen, including zooming and precision data locations
  • Reporting overhaul -- We can now create multi-page reports, customise them (e.g. add a company logo), print them out in full colour and save in a number of different file formats
  • Importing and exporting -- The equipment setup screen now allows motor nameplate information to be imported from an All-Test Pro OL 4 database, while exporting now includes all test data and notes

The Efector Metris is a compressed air consumption meter, which is capable of precisely measuring the current and total consumption of compressed air. Thanks to the unit's high sensitivity, even minute quantities (as in the case of leakage) can be detected at an early stage and subsequently repaired.

The Efector Octavis, meanwhile, is a compact diagnosis system, which evaluates vibration signals by way of frequency analysis. The unit uses a micromechanical acceleration sensor, and has been designed for continuous monitoring to detect early onset of rolling element bearing damage and unbalance.

We are today pleased to announce that we will be running a series of Motor Reliability and Testing Seminars, which will be taking place in early March. The main presenter will be Richard Scott, who is the vice-president of engineering and support at All-Test Pro. Richard is an expert on both off-line and on-line motor testing.

We will be holding these events in Basingstoke, Cambridge, Doncaster and Runcorn, and each one will also be comprised of presentations from UE Systems and Flir Systems. These will help to illustrate how the use of ultrasound and infrared respectively can help to diagnose motor problems.
