Compressed air leaks webinar video

Last week, we ran our very first webinar. Considering all the things that can go wrong with something like this, it thankfully went pretty smoothly, and the feedback has been extremely positive! Thanks to everyone who tuned in.

Not everyone could make it on the day, though, so we decided to record the talk and share it as a video. If you would like a copy of this, then please send me an e-mail and confirm the address to send the CD to.

We're definitely planning to run some more of these in the coming weeks and months, but topics and dates are yet to be decided. Keep 'em peeled!

Contribution from JK Environmental Services

John Kennedy of JK Environmental Services in Balymena, Northern Ireland - a company which specialises in energy and environmental management solutions - kindly shared his recent leak detection success at a nearby food company. Armed with an Ultraprobe 3000, John undertook a compressed air survey that identified significant savings for his client.

"A compressed air leak control strategy, proposed to my client O'Kane Poultry Ltd as a result of a Carbon Trust survey, was initiated. The initial survey comprised of 75 leaks with a loss value of £60,750."

"The majority of these leaks were as a result of the use of jubilee clips to attach flexible hoses to receivers and connections, and were located in the roof void. The leaks were repaired at a cost of £1,200 including parts and labour."

"The following survey 3 months later identified leaks to the value of £16,400. This provides a net saving of approximately £45,000, and the leaks from the second survey are currently under repair. It is anticipated that subsequent quarterly surveys will further reduce the leakages to a target value of £2,000 - £3,000 per annum."

"These savings are in addition to another £47,000 project relating to heat recovery and system centralisation, which the Carbon Trust will loan the company."

"Importantly for those using the Ultratrend DMS software: ensure your client's Environmental Manager receives the savings data, as this can be used for reporting internally and externally."

Spectralyzer 4 now available

It is almost a year ago that we released version 3 of Spectralyzer for the Ultraprobe 10000, and today we're announcing a brand-new version.

We've received quite a few feature requests in that time, and I'm pleased to say that a number of them have been included in this release: e.g. waterfall charts, dual display of FFT and time series, and enhanced display options when creating charts.

As usual, there isn't any charge to upgrade, and you can download a copy today from our website.

If you have any problems downloading this file, however, then please let me know and we'll pop a copy in the post.
