The Cygnus 1 is an intrinsically safe, multiple-echo ultrasonic thickness gauge, which has been designed for safe and easy use in potentially explosive environments.
With a minimum amount of training, this instrument can be used to quickly take accurate and repeatable measurements, and without the need for coatings to be removed. Only the metal thickness will be measured, even on rough and corroded surfaces.

As the instrument has been ATEX Approved (rating: II 1 G EEx ia IIC T6), no plant shutdown or hot work permit is necessary before it can be used.
The entire kit is also well built, and is highly resistant to water, dirt and dust. In addition, a variety of probe options are available, all of which are protected by a membrane to help prevent damage and extend their life.
