The FLIR E-series are portable, battery-powered infrared cameras, which weigh approximately 825 grams. They have been designed for quick, one-handed 'point, shoot and detect' operation, and are still comfortable to use at the end of a full day. With a battery life of up to four hours, which can be replaced at any time, these cameras are ideal for fault-finding and troubleshooting.
Inside the camera's robust outer casing is an excellent infrared detector, which allows operators to capture sharp images (from 160 x 120 up to 320 x 240 pixels, depending on the model).
The image quality is enhanced further by high thermal sensitivity, a 60 Hz refresh rate and a bright, 3.5" touch screen display.
Complementing the FLIR E-series' infrared capabilities is a 3.1 MegaPixel digital camera (not available on the E30 model), which allows inspectors to take visual images at the same time for documentation purposes. LED lights are also fitted to the front of the cameras for use in poorly lit areas.
Depending on the model, the cameras also include a number of other useful features, which can help to speed up your electrical, mechanical and building inspections...
- Advanced measurement functions, such as alarms, automatic hot and cold detection markers, multiple spot meters, etc
- Built-in WiFi for transferring images and data to other devices wirelessly
- Create PDF reports on the camera, and copy them to a USB flash stick
- Measure temperatures from -20°C up to 650°C, and detect temperature differences as small as 0.05°C
- Picture-in-Picture and Thermal Fusion modes, which allow digital and infrared images to be overlaid and blended together for more effective reporting
- Text and voice annotations, which download back to the PC
All of the digital and infrared images taken with the cameras are saved onto a removable memory card. We can store hundreds of images at any one time, and the infrared images are saved as radiometric JPEG files, which allow them to be opened up on any computer and without the need to install software.
However, the cameras do include PC software called FLIR Tools, which allows you to organise your inspections, analyse the images and report your findings in minutes using pre-designed report templates.
