The PHD-4 is a portable helium detector, which can detect very small leaks in objects that have a slight helium and air pressure inside, and is sensitive to helium concentrations as small as 2 parts per million.
This sensitivity, which is 3 orders of magnitude greater than the industry standard, makes the instrument a great alternative to other older solutions such as bubble-testing.
Virtually any object that requires a level of leak tightness can be tested using the PHD-4.
Other features of the PHD-4 include...
- Automatic backflow valve to prevent helium saturation, helping to ensure fast response times and long sensor life
- Battery life of up to 4 hours
- CE, CSA/US approved
- Four language options: English, French, German and Italian
- Fully automated start-up and self-test, and is ready for use in 3 minutes
- Weighs 5.7 lbs and can be worn around the neck using the included carry bag
As well as being a capable leak detector, the instrument is also straightforward to use. For example, both tuning and zeroing can be handled automatically, making the equipment suitable for use in environments with high levels of background helium.
