One-day Thermography Course

Overview Back to the top...

The One-day Thermography Course has been designed for new users of Flir infrared cameras. However, much of the course content is also equally appropriate for both potential purchasers and those who require a basic understanding of measurement techniques and their practical applications.

The course itself is run by Flir Systems in conjunction with the Infrared Training Center (ITC), who are widely considered to be the world's finest infrared training certification organisation, with instructors who are both ASNT and ERPI Level III qualified.

Agenda for the day Back to the top...

This course aims to provide a general overview of the concepts and principles behind infrared. It will also cover the practical implementation and use of this technology on-site, as well as how to take thermal measurements, analyse your findings and report them to colleagues or clients.

The One-day Thermography Course will cover the following topics...

  • Camera familiarisation
  • Conservation law, energy and temperature
  • Emissivity and image interpretation
  • Environmental factors, including Reflected Apparent Temperature (RAT)
  • Measurement resolution (e.g. accuracy, distance we can measure from, etc)
  • Overview of the optional ThermaCAM Reporter 8 software
  • ThermaCAM QuickReport software (e.g. downloading images and reporting)

If possible, we recommend that all attendees bring along their Flir infrared camera and a laptop (with software installed). If this isn't feasible, a limited number of spare cameras will be available for use on the day.
